It’s Redlands!

A devil of a Grand Final weekend awaits the Brisbane Strikers after Peter Bannon’s Redlands City Devils added Olympic FC to their list of finals conquests tonight, beating Bobby Hamilton’s team 1-0 at Goodwin Park to book a Grand Final date with the Strikers next Saturday night.

The Devils, who had previously brought the Sunshine Coast Fire’s long unbeaten run to an end in the minor semi-final a week ago, hammered the final nail into the coffin of Olympic’s 2009 season tonight. And it was Danny Byrne - a former Olympic player - who did the damage, popping up in the fifty-second minute to score the only goal.

Redlands’ win means that the QSL’s Grand Final weekend will be an all yellow and red affair – with the Under-21s final already having been confirmed as a Strikers v Redlands battle.
