Carseldine and Christensen Sign Up |
Thursday 26th Nov, 2009The regeneration of the Brisbane Strikers’ squad for the 2010 QSL season gathered pace tonight, with two more players agreeing terms with the club.
The identity of the two players give a strong indication of the likely shape of coach Stuart McLaren’s midfield. Myles Carseldine needs no introduction to Brisbane Strikers supporters after spending most of the past two seasons scorching the turf down one touchline or another for McLaren as either a wide midfielder or fullback, and he becomes the first player of McLaren’s 2009 squad to re-commit.
The other player to put pen to paper for McLaren tonight is former Brisbane City (Brisbane Premier League) man Matt Christensen, who has English Premier League experience to his credit and will add experience and class to the Strikers’ engine room.
Carseldine and Christensen join Ben Griffin, Matija Simic, Reagan Alder and Brendan White as confirmed Brisbane Strikers for 2010. McLaren said tonight he expected to sign several more players, including some members of this year’s squad, over the next day or two.
